Tonight we meet the contestants for the Fans vs. Favs season. The “Fans” are escorted via canoe to an island and meet up with Jeff Probst, who I sincerely hope arrived via computer generation on that helicopter. There’s a rainstorm brewing, and the players get a taste of things to come as there is no shelter yet...More »The Airai tribe (fans) still needs to build a shelter. They haven’t found any food, they don’t have any fire and they all need tans. Time passes, and half of their flint is burned up while they try to light a fire. Apparently, no one watched last season, when Favorite James commented for us viewers at home that you should prepare for survival as soon as you fill out your application. Kathy, Chet and Tracy feel like outsiders, and form their own alliance. Eventually, they get a shelter built that will house the three of them. Kathy, who holds an immunity idol, is already crying about feeling ostracized, the heat, having to make her own shelter, just anything. She’s a crier...More »Last week Mary was blindsided, leaving the Airai tribe without an aspiring couple. Seems that isn’t the kind of alliance they are going to allow. Mikey B talks to Joel about the weaker players, mainly the females. Mikey B comments that he counts Chet among the females. That was just wrong. Karma coming at you in a future episode, babe. Anyhooo, Joel interviews that he’s letting Mikey B talk and feel like he’s in charge, but in reality he doesn’t care what he says, and he doesn’t trust him....More »Over at Airai, Joel and Mikey B butt heads. Mikey B is still salty because Joel and the others had voted Mary off. Mikey B feels like he needs to pretend that he’s in Joel’s corner to gain his trust. Only, that’s not happening, because Joel’s no fool and can see right through Mikey B, who needs to go home because typing Mikey B is just as frustrating as typing Johnny Fairplay over and over. The Malakal tribe voted off Yau-Man last week, which is still questionable. In fact, they are starting to think about the influence they let Ciria have at the tribal council...More »After last week’s elimination, the Airai tribe goes back to camp in a somber mood. Jason is angry that Chet has SURVIVED another week. The next morning, Chet looks as weak as everyone seems to describe him. He and Tracy meet and decide that Jason needs to go next since he’s trying to break up the three outcasts: Chet, Tracy, and Kathy...More »Well, Joel is gone, and Chet is still around. Jonathan is still limping. James and Parvoti are still friendly, and over at Malakal, Ozzy and Amanda are still swapping island spit. They are now OzManda. Erik is shocked and appalled that Joel was voted off. He feels betrayed by this new tribe. He says you cannot trust the favorites, and he may have to do something if the playing field has been lowered to lying and trickery. Has he even SEEN this show before?...More »Thank you to my friend Gretchen for reminding me that James, I mean SURVIVOR would be on one day earlier this week. Whew! Last Week Chet went home voluntarily, thank God, and now Tracy and Erik are the only favorites left on the Malakal tribe. Ozzy and Tracey disagree over the fate of the three chickens. They lay three eggs a day, and that’s not enough for Tracey. She’s wants to kill them and do the KFC/Taco Bell thing. Ozzy wants to hold onto their only real resource. He points out that they have plenty of crabs and “other” foods. Tracey says that Ozzy is a control freak dictating what they eat and when they eat it, and so he needs to go...More »Traci is gone. That eerie night vision guides us all back to the Malakal camp. Erik is feeling lucky to still be around, but scared to death because he is the last fan on the team. Ozzy keeps saying he doesn’t feel like the leader of the tribe. He thinks he has know-how and opinions, but wants to avoid the target on his back from being called a leader. Amy and Cirie catch crabs for breakfast. Good thing that’s what they were doing, for a minute I thought they were filming Blair Witch III. Ozzy tells Amy he’s not comfortable with last night’s tribal. Amy says that Traci was turning on Ozzy but she stopped it. Ozzy interviews that Amy is too adamant about being on his side and he doesn’t trust her...More »Over at Malakal, Ozzy says that Tracy would not have left had she not lied. Erik is just shocked that he is still around. For the first time, the Favorites voted to keep a Fan around. At the Ariai camp, the players speculate on who was voted off, thinking it was probably Erik...More »Last week ended with Eliza playing the fake idol at council and becoming the first of this season’s jury members. Back at camp, the players ask Jason about the fake idol, and he is just glad Eliza played it instead of him since he doesn’t want to look stupid. Cirie says that if it had worked, losing Ozzy might not have been such a bad thing. Jason interviews that Ozzy fooled him with the idol, but at least it feels good to have beaten Ozzy in the first immunity challenge. He says that Ozzy is not the only god-like competitor on the island. Of course he isn’t, Jason. There’s always Cirie. Don’t sleep on her...More »
