If you want to get a lot of visitors to your site from your banner advertising efforts you are going to have to make sure you figure out the amount of visitors each site is getting before you run your ad on that site and give the owner your hard earned money.
In this article I want to show you how to figure this out the easy way so you don't get screwed over.
Secret #1 - You have to make sure other people are running ads on that site.
If you go to a site that is offering banner advertising in your niche and you see that they are telling people that they get 20,000 visitors a day and they will sell you an ad for cheap - you have to be careful.
You need to realize that if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is to good to be true.
So if you see these kinds of claims you want to be very careful about buying space on these sites.
If you think there might be some hope, then ask the site owner if you can run your ad on the site for a week and see what happens.
Secret #2 - Make sure you get a screenshot of the latest web stats that they have.
You want to make sure you can see a screenshot of the latest tracking stats that they have to validate the traffic numbers that they are telling you.
Sure they can doctor these screenshots up with different tools to make them look better then they are, but at least you have something.
Not only that, if the prices are reasonable and people are advertising on their site on an ongoing basis then you should be okay.
Always remember that if you are nervous about what the person is telling you, just pay for and run your ad for a week and see what happens.
