Here is my take on the five biggest ones, in no particular order (because that would take days of debate itself).

It's ironic that Jay-Z was the one who helped make her big by discovering her.
Between her music and personal life (relationship and messy breakup with Chris Brown, and now rumored with Justin Timberlake), this girl will be in the news for years to come.
Miley Cyrus - Can you be a teenager and a diva? I debated putting her on the list, but she's too loved by the younger generation to not get a spot.
Every single moment of her life seems to be analyzed as well (either by herself on Twitter or by the paparazzi).
As her career continues to rise, there is no telling where she'll end up.
Mariah Carey - This girl has been in the limelight for close to 20 years now and is still going strong.
After recently getting married to Nick Cannon, she has stopped acting so much like a diva.
However, her popularity still keeps her up there.
Britney Spears - Another one who had a slight downfall in her career is now back in the top 10.
She continues to release hits and sell out concerts.
Her personal life is still a main topic of interest as well.
So to recap, all these women are considered divas more for their overall popularity than their actions.
Although all have had some diva moments, I think we all would if we were as successful as them.
