Formed in 1853, Alameda County is located in the US state of California. It is the seventh largest and one of the most populous counties in the state. The Alameda clerk- recorder's office is located at 1106 Madison Street, Oakland. The office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm from Monday to Friday. You can come to the clerk- recorders office during business hours and search the document indices.

All public records dating back to 1853 can be found by going through the documents alphabetically by names of parties. The processing time is approximately 2 weeks from the receipt of the application. You can also request divorce record through telephone or Internet. The fee charged to search for the copy of the record must be paid in advance. This fee is non- refundable even if the required document is not found. No additional shipping charges have to be paid. An additional $2 non- refundable fee is charged for online requests.
