How to Draw Cartoons Online
- 1). Open an online image-editing website. Many are available free of charge, but some require membership if you want to save your work to an account. Membership is often free.
- 2). Use the "Line" and "Brush" tools in the sidebar. The Line tool lets you draw lines, map your cartoon and create special effects. The Brush tool allows you to create the look of a cartoon drawn with a paintbrush, airbrush, chalk, spattered paint or stamps.
- 3). Make shapes using various shape tools so you can map or draw a frame for your cartoon online. Shapes available include circles, squares, rounded rectangles, stars and a tool to make different polygons. Use shapes to create word bubbles for your cartoons as well.
- 4). Add layers to your cartoon. Using layers when drawing cartoons online allows you to easily take away and add items to your cartoon without needing to change the original picture. You can also use layers that will make your cartoon look three-dimensional, add color to specific objects or rotate the image.
- 5). Use filters to add special effects to your cartoon. Filters can help you blur your cartoon in the right spots, add more dimensions, create spiral patterns, make items in the background or foreground of your cartoon look blurry, create mosaics, warp and transform your cartoon, add reflections and other effects.
- 6). Add text to your cartoon with the "Text" tool. With this tool, you can add text to word bubbles. Text tools usually use the fonts you have saved in your computer.
- 7). Use the "Ink" tool to make your cartoon look like you outlined it with a black pen, as you would for a hand-drawn cartoon.
