Here's How:
- First, decide how much you want to shave. It's a personal preference. A freshly shave pubic area feels silky soft to the touch and enhances sensation. You might want to go completely naked or leave a "landing strip."
- If this is your first time, or if your pubic hairs are long, trim them down as close as you can with a pair of sharp hair-cutting scissors. Be careful. Small scissors work well. You don't want to nick a delicate part.
- Take a hot bath to prep you for shaving. This will make your skin and hairs softer and easier to remove.
- Apply hair conditioner to your pubic hair and let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse it off.
- Find a comfortable position to shave. Sit on the edge of the tub or stand with your legs slightly parted, place one leg on the edge of the tub or bring a chair or stool to the edge and place your foot on that.
- Apply shaving cream to your pubic hair and pick up your razor. Some people prefer single blade disposable razors, others like the closer shave of a three-blade razor. Whichever you choose, make sure the blade is fresh and sharp.
- Decide where you want to start and stroke the razor in the direction of hair growth. Shaving opposite hair growth may cause irritation. Don't apply too much pressure to the blade.
- Rinse the blade after every stroke and try not to go over an area more than once as this too can cause irritation.
- In areas where the skin is looser, hold your labia taut with your fingers to get an accurate shave.
- Use a mirror to check your progress and to make sure you don't leave any areas unintentionally hairy.
- When you're done, pat the area dry with a towel and apply scent-free lotion.
- Repeat as necessary. Some women like to shave every day to keep the area smooth and hair-free. But when you first start out, daily shaving might cause irritation and skin rashes.
Tips:
- You may want to have your partner shave you. This can be part of the erotic experience.
- Remember shaving is a personal choice. Some women may prefer a hair-free sexual partner, but only shave if it's something you want to try.
