If you are traveling to Chile, you will more than likely arrive and depart from its capital of Santiago, and it is worthwhile to spend a few days in this city.
Santiago is an extremely open gay city, and is home to many Chile gay bars.
Most gay bars in Santiago can be found along the Barrio Bellavista which sits at the foot of the Cerro San Cristobal.
If you expect to spend some time cruising gay in Santiago, ensure that you get plenty of rest during the day as most Chileans do not start anything exciting until around 1:00 in the morning.
Weekdays in Chile are very quiet as well, but your weekend nightlife will certainly take off in a way that you never expected.

Santiago is a very safe city to travel in and it is easy to walk from one bar to the next.
There are no rules when it comes to gay travel in Santiago, as you are free to come as you are and dress how you see fit.
Casual light weight summer attire will leave you most comfortable, however in winter months you may need a lighter jacket as the evenings turn cool.
It will benefit you to know at least a little bit of Spanish, however, not knowing any will not preclude you from having a fabulous time.
Gay bars it seems are a dime a dozen in Santiago but you can also find many in Chile's other large city of Buenos Aires.
