USA soccer players Abby Wambach and Sarah Huffman tied the knot in Hawaii on October 5, 2013. The wedding was held on the beach at sunset in front of the couple's family and closest friends, according to TMZ. Both Wambach and Huffman play for the Western NY Flash.
Many other USA soccer players were in attendance including pro National Women’s Soccer League players Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux.
After the wedding Abby Wambach tweeted: Sarah and I wanted to thank everyone for all the love and support. We couldn't be happier. What an amazing week it's been. #honeymoon
Who is Abby Wambach?:
Abby Wambach is a USA soccer play. She's helped the US win two Olympic gold medals and was the 2012 FIFA World Player of the Year. She is considered one of the best soccer players ever and she broke Mia Hamm’s record for most goals (160 international goals) in her career.
Unlike soccer star Megan Rapinoe, Abby Wambach had never officially come out until now.

Sarah Huffman is a soccer player and teammate of Abby Wambach on the Western New York Flash. Sarah Huffman has been involved in an organization called Athlete Ally that combats homophobia in sport. In her statement on the site, Huffman came out: "I am proud to be an athlete ally because I dream of a world full of equal opportunities and treatment. I believe that sports are a place where everybody belongs. Discrimination based upon sexual orientation, race, gender have no place in the world – nevertheless sports. I am excited to be an ally and stand up for people like me in the LGBT community."
