Weekly Top 10 Christian Hits Chart
Tenth Avenue North and Casting Crowns are the top bands this week in the charts. Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Everyday Sunday, The Afters and Laura Story all check in with new music, making May a great month for Christian music fans.
The official Top Christian Hits Chart is compiled by your Guide by checking and averaging Christian charts and top play lists from all over the U.S. such as Billboard, Cashbox and Air 1 and finding the most popular songs??.????
In week #17 in the charts, "You Are More," is back up to #1 after a short dip. The song comes from The Light Meets The Dark. My favorite song on the release, "You Are More" touches on a topic that I speak on frequently ... not being defined by the choices that we've made or the mistakes that we've survived. Our experiences help shape us, but they do not define us. God defines us and we are more than a laundry list of actions.
"Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me)," which debuted six weeks ago, is the third single release from Until The Whole World Hears. While some of the critics weren't impressed by the song (or the release), it has proven to be another hit. Personally, I have to wonder how anyone could say that lyrics like Living, He loved me / Dying, He saved me / Buried, He carried my sins far away are a cliche (yet one reviewer did) because truth is never a cliche!
Moving up from #4, "Stronger" is from Mandisa's new release, What If We Were Real, which hit stores last month. Fans love this one as it is one of those "good to the last drop" kind of tunes.
"I Refuse" comes from Josh Wilson's latest, See You. The pop-rocker reminds us that doing nothing is not an option. Prayer, while an important part of Christian life, is not the end all. Or as James put it much more eloquently than I can, James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith, but does not have works? Can his faith save him?
Debuting this week, "Walking" is the first single from the duo's new album. Upbeat and full of life and energy, this tune reminds us to slow down in our walk so we can learn from our steps.

Our second new song this week comes from Kirk Franklin's new release, Hello Fear. "I Smile" is one of those songs that you can not possibly frown through. It's a mid-tempo tune that serves as a fun reminder to smile through the hard times because God is still in control.

Yet another new tune in the chart this week is the latest radio release from Everyday Sunday's 2009 album, Best Night Of Our Lives. Pop sensibility meets rock pretty much sums up this song.Buy from Amazon »
Debuting this week, "Lift Me Up" is the second radio single from Light Up The Sky. Pure pop, this song highlights faith that doesn't waver no matter what the circumstances.Buy from Amazon »
Hitting the Top 10 this week for the first time, "Blessings" is title track from Laura's new album, which hit stores last month. Tender, yet as powerful as a freight train, this piano-based ballad shares that we shouldn't look at blessings as a wish list that God checks off for us. Rather, we should see the blessings in the little miracles around us.Buy from Amazon »
"Children of God" comes to us from Move and in it, Southern rock meets the New Hope Academy Children's Choir in this rockin' anthem.
