Games and activities for Baptist youth groups should not only be fun, but they should also teach the youth about the importance of faith in God and how to apply Bible teachings to their daily lives. To get ideas for games or activities, you can talk with church members who teach Sunday school classes for teenagers and ask them what kinds of activities the teenagers may enjoy. Another idea is to speak with the church's teenagers at a meeting to find out what games they want to play. - Divide your youth group into threes and hold a religious skit contest based on how well the teens focus on Biblical lessons. Give each group a Bible passage and instruct group members to develop a skit based on it. For example, one group could have to write a skit based on Ephesians 2:8-9, which states that a person is only saved by faith in Christ alone while another group could write a skit based on Proverbs 31, which is the description of a wise and godly woman. You and two Sunday School teachers judge the skits, and the winning groups get to choose where everyone can eat for lunch.
- Invite the youth group members to compete for a prize by creating their own dance moves while you play upbeat gospel songs. Get your youth choir director and another church committee member to judge each dancer on originality and the winning dancers receives a bag of gospel CDs to take home.
- Have youth group members answer trivia questions about life issues with a Bible verse that sufficiently matches each question. For example, if you ask one group member what kind of attitude a Christian should have toward those heading in the wrong direction, he may say that according to James 5:20, the person who corrects a person's sinful ways will keep this individual from destroying himself. Ask each person three questions and the members who guess all three questions correctly gets a devotional book that deals with youth-related topics.
