The Process of Diwali Poojan

Diwali is a festival of wealth and prosperity. In the Diwali poojan, God Kuber, Maa Kali and Saraswati are worshipped along with Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi. Worship of Ganesha at Diwali night gives wisdom and knowledge that motivates the person to earn money. Also, it gives an understanding to the person about the better utilization of funds. People worship Goddess Laxmi and God Kuber to get the blessings of wealth and success.

 

The content of the worship of Goddess Lakshmi should be according to your affordability. Especially, there are some favorite items of Goddess Laxmi. You can make her happy easily by using these items. During this time, you should wear her favorite cloths i.e. red-pink or yellow silk garments. Her favorite flowers are rose and lotus. Apart from this, quince, custard apple, plum, pomegranate and Singadhe are the favorite fruits of Devi Laxmi. The perfume of Kewra, rose and sandalwood must use in her worship. The rice and sweets used in the pooja should be pure.  

 

You can light the lamp of cow ghee, groundnut oil or spleen in the pooja. Other materials like cane, Kamal Gatta, vertical turmeric, Bilvptr, Panchamrita, Ganga, wool rugs, gemstone jewelery, cow dung, vermilion, bark should be used in the worship of Maa Laxmi. According to the process of Diwali Poojan, you should place the idols of Lakshmi and Ganesha on chauki in such a way that their face is towards east or west direction. Laxmij should be on the right hand side of Ganesh ji. Worshippers should sit in front of the statues.

 

There are some steps which you should follow to perform the poojan of Diwali such as

 

Place the urn on rice near Laxshmi.

 

Wrap the coconut in red garment and put it on the urn. This urn is a symbol of Varuna.

 

Place two diyas. One diya should be filled with ghee and the other one should be of oil.

Keep one diya on the right side of chauki and othe at the feet of the statues.

Keep a small chauki in front of the chauki on which statues are placed and spread a red cloth on it.

Make nine sign symbolizes Navgraha near to urn with rice on the red cloth.

Create sixteen signs of rice near to Lord Ganesha on red cloth. It symbolizes maatrakaa.

Draw a swastika in between Navagraha and Shodash maatrakaa.

Put betel in the middle of swastika and make four dheri of rice at the four corners.

Write Om in middle at the top.

Keep three plates and an urn filled with water near to small chauki.

Keep eleven diyas in the first thali. Put ball-bearing, Btashe, sweets, textiles, jewelery, sandalwood paste, vermilion, betel nut and betel leaf in next thali. Carry flowers, Durba, rice, cloves, cardamom, saffron-Kapoor , turmeric-lime plaster, aromatic substances, incense in the third thali.

Now, sit in front of these plates and perform the Diwali poojan by worshipping all the Gods along with Maa Laxmi and Ganesha. Your family members should sit on your left side. If there is a visitor then he/she should sit behind you or your family members.
