The Problem With The American Church - Making Merchandise Of God"s People

I recently attended a wonderful church in Orlando, Florida and was greatly blessed by the message.
Upon going into the foyer to read through some church literature, I noticed the congregation offered smaller care groups throughout the week.
I therefore took the literature home and a couple days thereafter wrote the church after being somewhat disgruntled by an interaction with one of the leaders on staff.
You can read the letter below to get an idea how to formulate a persuasive letter and make an appeal when writing.
Dear ___________(Church Care Group Leader ...
name withheld), I attended (Your) Church with my wife Karla on Sunday night and enjoyed it very much.
I took some of your church literature home and noticed your email and care groups.
I'm currently seeking employment if you or anyone in the church can help.
Basically I'm praying for a job that pays a minimum of $36,000 a year.
My resume is attached.
I have lots of education, degrees, executive education, ministry credentials, etc.
Most importantly I'm willing to work hard and start anywhere.
Your prayers and assistance is much appreciated.
My resume is attached for review.
Sincere thanks, Paul ps.
My wife Karla is a wonderful interior designer and home stager should anyone be able to use her services.
The care group leader wrote back saying: Thank you for reaching out to us.
The best help we can offer you at this time is a 6 week workshop that is called 48 days to the work you love.
It is $89.
00 and being held on Monday nights at the Orange Campus in the Gallery.
There is about 80 people in attendance.
You can go to our website to get more information.
Jim I was a bit surprised to get such a response and replied below: Thanks Jim, I'm looking to earn money not spend it right now brother.
I shall lift up my hands to Jehovah-jireh.
Paul And this is precisely what is wrong with the American church.
Of course I myself like many of us have been guilty of this type of behavior, making merchandise of the knowledge God has given us.
Yet we would do well to remember Jesus the head of the Church said, "Freely you have received, freely give.
" (Matthew 10:8) Ironically, I was not seeking knowledge but a job.
I guess people, religious or not, often view life only through their own prism be it distorted or not.
Self-absorbed people fill the churches across America just as much as they do the marketplace.
God deliver us from evil and have mercy on us all.
