Lawn Mower Blade Replacement Instructions

    • 1). Drain the oil and gas from your motor. Locate the drain plug on the side of the motor and unscrew it. Drain the liquids into separate containers and dispose of them properly.

    • 2). Turn the lawn mower on its side. This will make it easier to remove the blade. After the oil and gas have been drained no liquid will leak from the motor.

    • 3). Locate the center bolt in the lawn mower blade. Unscrew it with a 5/8-inch wrench. A bolt with a washer will fall off the arbor.

    • 4). Slide the blade off the arbor.

    • 5). Place the new blade---with the side toward you that says, "This side up"---onto the arbor. Slide the washer and the bolt onto the arbor and tighten the bolt into place.

    • 6). Turn the mower back over. Fill the lawn mower with new oil and gas and it will be ready to mow.
